Sprouts of Spring @RangKatha Headquarters...

Dear RangKatha Readers,

Its been almost 2 weeks since i have posted on RangKatha, not because i was being lazy.. just because i was struggling to find time to put my thoughts down, with everything happening in my life. First my work was demanding more than 15 hours of my day then kids were on spring break, so i was enjoying spring with 2 of my most favorites on the planet, my 11 year old son and 7 year old daughter. My family was visiting me during spring break and also me and my husband were busy making our garden spring ready! So you can say spring kept me busy.. Rest assured, I did not forget about you all.. So I am definitely going to make it up to you with this post which composes of springs of colors..

After almost 6 months of harsh winter, here we are enjoying the beginning of spring. For a person like me who..

"Lives in her garden
and
sleeps in the house"......

Arrival of spring is like a Fresh Breath of Life...

As everything around me is speaking spring by turning alive, looking bright, colorful and fresh....
I would like to bring to you some captures of fresh life from
- My Home - RangKatha's Headquarters !

Not just that, for the first time, on RangKatha, I am going to share a corner of my house. Corner that is my absolute favorite - Screened Porch facing backyard of our house.

When we bought this house some 8 years back we didn't have much of choice in making any changes as this was an already built house and builder was ready to sell it as is. We fell in love with this house very instance we saw it, there was nothing I wanted to change. Out of everything about the house best part I loved was porch with a view of perfect backyard. Our backyard is neither too big nor too small, has space for everything we wanted and also have these beautiful woods and more than anything its very secluded and private.

View of our backyard from screen porch is something I cannot trade for anything. We have spent many memorable moments on our porch with family and friends. Enjoying breakfasts along with morning breeze of the woods around on a quite weekend, evening family chit-chats or working with kids on their school works while listening to chirping of birds, cuddling with a book and watching kids at play in the backyard, even making it as our art studio by me and my daughter and getting art inspirations from nature, if not anything - just quietly sitting and watching woods on a rainy day! Oh boy!.. I do miss all this during winters. But now that spring is here i am all hyped up to put in use my favorite corner of my house !

Here you go.. enjoy sprouts of spring through my eyes from my home...

Woods of my backyard.. as colors start to sprout out of these dead looking woods...

Wines of Carolina Jasmine adoring walls of my house.. what can be more colorful than spring of yellow on red brick walls..

Our pet turtle "Boxy" (Eastern Box turtle), enjoying beautiful weather ....

After yellow now its spring of purples..

My Ganesha and Buddha - Basking in SunShine!

My porch is filled with artifacts i have collected during my travels
Corner from within my house that has view of porch and backyard. I adjust with this during winters when i cannot really enjoy my porch.

Imagine sitting under these fragnant purple clustered flowers of wisteria vines on a mildly cold spring mornings with your favorite blanket and book with sun touching your feet and birds chirping around you in the woods! Would you want to trade this for any other vacation destination?? I sure don't!

Hope you enjoyed start of spring from my home! Do share colors of your spring....
Until next time .. Wishing you a weekend with spring of colors....

Bye ~Prasanna

  2. Prasanna, Your porch is very beautifully decorated. Where did you get your Ganesha's idol from? I do not have a backyard, just a small patio. I have been planning to work on it for months. For those flowers, I might have to hire a gardener for my patio....:-).
